Across the galaxy, Magos Dominus Faustinius is summoned to bring his hard-won expertise to bear and ensure the Necrons do not succeed, and Warhammer 40,000: Mechanicus II sees that conflict grow far beyond what either side first expected, drawing in external actors stranger and more deadly still.
Two playable factions, two narrative campaigns, and two highly distinct playstyles present one important choice: who will you lead to victory in this arcane technological war of cold metal hatred? Assembling forces and deploying warriors in intense turn-based tactical battles demands mastering and adapting to each faction's unique abilities, playstyles, and diverse range of available combatants.
New environmental mechanics require maneuvering like never before, letting players take cover behind terrain as the Mechanicus or destroy that same terrain entirely as the Necrons, playing directly to each faction's inherent strengths and weaknesses. Fighting for control of an entire world means capturing and defending regions from the enemy while generating and managing scarce resources, racing against the Sankhotep dynasty's global awakening as the Mechanicus, or defending ancestral tombs as the Necrons crush the verminous interlopers threatening their return.
Deploying and upgrading a characterful entourage of Tech-Priest leaders as Faustinius, or customizing a court of Necron nobles as Nefershah, ties directly into managing territorial garrisons and assembling forces wisely from each faction's vastly expanded roster. Veteran Black Library author Ben Counter returns to tell the next chapter of the Mechanicus saga, weaving an epic conflict across multiple campaigns replete with narrative events, where every choice shapes not just the course of the war, but its climactic outcome.
