Unrailed 2: Back on Track brings the chaotic co-op railroad-building formula back with friends joining in local or online multiplayer to lay track across procedurally generated worlds while the train is actively running. Every decision has to happen fast, since stopping to think too long about the next section of rail is exactly how a train ends up derailed mid-run.

Every excursion builds toward something more lasting than the last: new rewards and permanent upgrades grant character abilities that modify gameplay, while new train engines, wagons, and extensions unlock a wide range of configurations to build and experiment with. Losing a locomotive isn't the end either, it's framed as an opportunity to rebuild and quite literally get back on track, keeping runs from feeling like wasted effort even when they go badly. Six biomes are currently available, each with its own unique mechanics and a boss fight waiting at the end, and stations scattered along the way let you upgrade the train with new wagons or equip cartridges that unlock fresh abilities mid-run.

The new Terrain Conductor mode lets players design and share their own custom maps with the wider Unrailed community, with standout creations regularly highlighted by the developers, or you can simply browse the growing library of player-made maps if building isn't your thing. An 8-player Vs Mode lets two teams duke it out competitively rather than cooperating, and online leaderboards with action replays give players a way to compare scores and see who's actually mastered keeping a train on the rails under pressure.
