The five crew members of the Tulpar are stranded in the empty reaches of space, shrouded in perpetual sunset, and God is not watching. Mouthwashing is a first-person horror game following the dying crew of a shipwrecked space freighter, where good old Captain Curly's true nature comes to light only after it's far too late for any of them to escape the consequences.
Maimed, limbless, and unable to speak but somehow still alive, Curly is now entirely at the mercy of the very crew he's doomed to a slow, drawn-out death. With the ship set to run out of power within six months, and food rations disappearing long before that, the remaining crew has to weather starvation, isolation, and each other, with rescue sitting at essentially zero probability given how far off their shipment route they've drifted.
Immersive, detail-driven storytelling rewards close attention to the surroundings, while psychological scares play with perception in ways that make it hard to trust what's actually in front of you. The narrative doesn't offer comfort either: as the old space freighter industry saying goes, hope to die, or for goodness sake, pray that everyone else did first.
