Car Mechanic Simulator 2018 pushes the bestselling series to a new level, challenging players to repair, paint, tune, and drive cars across an incredibly detailed, highly realistic simulation with astonishing attention to automotive detail. Finding classic, unique cars runs through two new modules, Barn Find and Junkyard, and the Car Editor lets modders bring their own self-made vehicles directly into the game.
Photorealistic graphics accompany more than 40 cars, over 10 tools, and more than 1,000 individual parts, giving players considerably more to work with than any earlier entry in the series. Car auctions let players resell old vehicles or bid on new additions for their own collection, and a built-in photo mode captures stunning before-and-after shots of every completed repair, while an effectively endless supply of randomly generated missions keeps the workshop busy well past any single sitting.
Each mission carries its own difficulty and time constraints, and additional tools become available for purchase as needed, letting a small starting workshop gradually grow into a full three-lifter operation complete with a dedicated parts warehouse and lacquer sprayer. An Advanced Upgrades System lets players level up and spend earned points on further improvements, while the Path Test, Test Track, and Race Track each offer different ways to evaluate a repaired car's suspension, condition, and raw performance before it heads back out the door. A redone paint system supports matt, metallic, and pearl finishes applied part by part, and full modding support from day one means the game's roster of cars and liveries can keep expanding well beyond what ships in the box.
