Birders, assemble. Birdwatching Notebook turns your desktop into your very own birdwatching spot, letting you place a tiny postcard, a window into another world, right at the corner of your screen and wait for avian friends to stop by. Decorating a favorite birding spot however you like might just be enough to convince a passing bird to visit for a while.
Multiple birding spots unlock over time, each with its own distinct scenery and species to discover, from docks and beaches to deserts and rainforests. The whole Birding Area can be freely zoomed, moved, and rearranged, and a Blueprint System lets players save builds, share them, and switch quickly between different layouts. Birds keep their own preferred visiting times, and the more often a particular species stops by, the more comfortable they become, sometimes revealing new behaviors worth capturing with the in-game camera. Documenting every unique behavior from a bird eventually earns a small statue commemorating them.
A personal handbook tracks Birding Areas, decorations, photographs, and achievements, and adjusting the time of day or weather brings out different visitors depending on conditions, including nocturnal species that only appear after dark. Social features let players transform into a small bird themselves and visit friends' birdwatching spots, leaving emotes, photos, and small gifts behind, or request and collect blueprints of layouts they admire to bring inspiration back to their own space. Bird visitors bring trinkets too, colorful feathers and other collectibles, and a sparkle-loving Boss Crow trades favors in Crow Coins for anything shiny brought his way.
